Introduction
Northeastern Ontario is home to five colleges—Canadore College, Northern College, Cambrian College, Sault College, and Collège Boréal—and four universities—Laurentian University, Algoma University, Nipissing University and Université de Hearst. Each region has four school boards serving English public schools, English separate (Roman Catholic) schools, French public and French separate schools. Your children start in junior kindergarten at age four and continue through elementary, middle and high school to Grade 12 (age 17 or 18.) There is no cost for schooling through Grade 12. Once students continue to college or university there are annual tuition fees.
