Whitestone is in the District of Parry Sound. It was incorporated in 2000 with the amalgamation of East Burpee, Burton, McKenzie, Ferrie, Hagerman, parts of Croft, Ardbeg, Dunchurch, Maple Island and Whitestone. The municipality is a large area, full of lakes and white pine forests. Its scenery and proximity to southern Ontario make it an attractive recreation and retirement community. Whitestone is only three hours north of Toronto.
