McMurrich/Monteith, established in 1998 with the amalgamation of the Township of McMurrich and the unincorporated Township of Monteith, is proud to be part of the Almaguin Highlands. Located in the District of Parry Sound, McMurrich/Monteith was set along the old Booth Railroad during the Northern Ontario logging days.
The scenic little town is along the Seguin Trail, which offers amazing outdoor experiences for trail riders and adventure seekers. The Township’s rugged natural beauty and small-town charm has been attracting residents, cottagers and tourists from all over the world. It is located just off the beaten path, far enough from Toronto to offer a great escape, but is close enough to bigger towns to offer a variety of employment opportunities, making this a great destination to live, work and play.
