Joly Township, incorporated in 1890, is just east of Sundridge in the beautiful Almaguin Highlands, on the border of world famous Algonquin Park. Nearby Forest Lake offers all the summer water sports, and Lynch Lake has a public beach. Visitors and residents enjoy birdwatching, snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross-country skiing and other outdoor activities. Joly shares some services with the communities of Sundridge and Strong Township, such as recycling, an arena, library and airport. A September fly-in event attracts aircraft and visitors from all over. The township has thousands of hectares of vacant land available for building and business development.
